The Proposed museum is a specific architectural object that mediates between outdoor and indoor. Here, indoor space and outdoor space are not treated separately, as in most architecture types. Instead, the architecture of this museum serves as the space in-between, creating an artificial nature like public space and collect artwork become exhibition room at the same time.
The Capitoline Museums, conceived by Michelangelo Buonarroti. were the first public museums, tracing back to the 16th century. The museums are contained in three palazzi surrounding a central Trapezoidal Piazza in a plan. Once the Palazzo Senatorio was transformed into the first art collection, Michelangelo then added the Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo, in effect forming the central piazza. By doing this, he created a sort of artificial nature and interlinked the building beneath the piazza through an underground gallery. This reversed the classical orientation of the Capitoline, disposing it toward the public sphere.
